This is a standard-template draft prepared for early access to Crawler Market. It has not been reviewed by a licensed attorney and does not necessarily reflect the consumer-protection or e-commerce law of your country. We will update this page after legal review before a full public launch.
1. Acceptance of terms
Crawler Market (“we”, “us”) is operated as a sole proprietorship (individual business) registered in South Korea. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What Crawler Market is
Crawler Market is a marketplace where independent developers publish desktop crawling / automation applications distributed as Windows (.exe), macOS (.dmg), or Linux (.AppImage) binaries, and users browse, purchase, and download those applications. We only support these three desktop binary formats at this time; we do not host or review the underlying source code of listed apps.
3. Accounts and roles
Every account is a buyer (“User”) account by default. A user may additionally apply to register as a developer to publish apps for sale; developer status is added to an existing account rather than requiring a separate account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
4. Purchases and payments
Paid apps are purchased through PayPal (for international / global customers) or PortOne (for customers paying in Korean Won within Korea). Card and payment account details are entered directly into the payment processor’s own checkout flow — Crawler Market does not receive, process, or store your full card number or payment credentials. Prices for the same app may be shown in different currencies depending on the payment method (e.g. a KRW-converted amount for PortOne).
5. Licenses and device limits
When you purchase a paid app, you receive a personal, non-transferable license to install and run that app for your own use. Redistributing, reselling, or sharing a purchased app or its license with anyone else is prohibited. Each license may be activated on a limited number of devices; if you attempt to register more devices than your license allows, activation will be blocked until you deregister an existing device or obtain an additional license.
6. Refunds
You may request a refund for a paid app if (a) your cumulative recorded run time for that app is under 2 hours, and (b) the request is made within 14 days of purchase. Both conditions must be met. Run time is measured automatically from periodic usage reports (“heartbeats”) sent by the app while it runs. This threshold is an interim, industry-practice-based policy (similar to thresholds used by other digital storefronts) and may be adjusted once we complete a formal legal review of consumer refund rights in the regions we serve (including EU withdrawal-right rules and applicable US state law).
7. App review and removal
Before an app is published, it goes through an automated malware scan and a manual review by our team. We may reject, suspend, or remove any app — including apps already purchased by users — if it is found to be malicious, fraudulent, misleading, or in violation of these terms. Users can report an app (e.g. as malicious, fraudulent, or not matching its description); reported apps are reviewed by an administrator, who may unpublish the app pending investigation.
8. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to: upload malicious software or apps that violate a third party’s rights; misrepresent an app’s functionality; attempt to bypass license or device-limit checks; attempt to redistribute a paid app outside of Crawler Market; or otherwise misuse the service.
9. Developer terms
Developers are solely responsible for the content, functionality, and legality of the apps they upload, including the accuracy of app descriptions, screenshots, and usage instructions. Developer payouts (sales revenue minus platform fees) are paid out via the same processors used for checkout (PayPal / PortOne). Tax withholding is not currently applied to payouts; developers are responsible for their own tax reporting obligations, pending our own review with a tax professional.
10. Intellectual property
Developers retain ownership of the apps they upload and grant Crawler Market a license to host, distribute, and display those apps (including screenshots and descriptions) to facilitate sales. Crawler Market retains ownership of the marketplace platform itself.
11. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The service and listed apps are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Crawler Market performs automated malware scanning and manual review before publishing an app, but cannot guarantee that any listed app is completely free of defects or security issues. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Crawler Market is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service or any app obtained through it.
12. Governing law
These terms are intended to be governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, where the service is operated, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the law of your own country of residence. This section is a placeholder pending formal legal review.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
